After helping launch Borderlands 2 at 2K Games, one of the biggest releases of my career, and spending more than 15 years building products and brands across 2K Games, Riot Games, NBCUniversal, and Esquire TV, I found myself at a crossroads.
One day I was helping launch a major entertainment property backed by a $30 million-dollar marketing campaign, and the next I was asking myself what I wanted to build next. Looking back, that pause gave me something I hadn't had in years: the time to create.
I spent my time writing on Wassupr, my blog where I explore technology, entrepreneurship, design, and culture, while revisiting product ideas that had been sitting in my notebooks for years.
One day, while searching for my wallet yet again, I realized something simple. It never had a place to call home.
Whether it was my car, my gym bag, the dining room table, or my nightstand, my wallet was always somewhere different. Yet it carried some of the most important things in my everyday life: my ID, credit cards, business cards, family photos, and more.
Having spent years creating products and building brands in the entertainment and gaming industry, I couldn't stop asking one question.
Why isn't there a dedicated place for your wallet when you're not carrying it?
That simple idea became WalletBeds.
Over the following months, I designed prototypes, created 3D models, found the right manufacturing partner, and transformed a simple idea into a real product.
WalletBeds is built on a simple belief: the things that carry your life deserve a place to rest.
